Babu Lal Chaturvedi Calendar festivals 2026-2027 are the festival, vrat and holiday dates that readers look up in a Hindi panchang for the Hindu year that runs from March 2026 to April 2027, along with the rest of 2026 and the full year 2027.
This page gives you the festivals still left in 2026, a month-wise list for 2027, a side-by-side comparison of both years, Ekadashi dates, and a wedding muhurat timeline. The next big dates are Dussehra on 20 October 2026 and Diwali on 8 November 2026. In 2027, Holi is on 22 March and Diwali is on 29 October.
Why Do People Search for “2026-2027” Festivals?
An English calendar starts on 1 January. A Hindu panchang does not. The Hindu year follows the Moon, and the new year begins at Chaitra Navratri in spring. In 2026 that day is 19 March. In 2027 it is 7 April.
This is why a family looking at a wall panchang in October 2026 is often planning for both the rest of this year and the early months of next year. Weddings, house-entry ceremonies and travel are usually planned months ahead. So readers want one list that runs from the autumn festivals of 2026 into the spring festivals of 2027.
We built this page for that purpose. It is an independent festival guide, not a scan of any printed panchang. If you want separate year-wise pages, we also have a guide to the Babu Lal Chaturvedi Calendar 2026 and one for the Babu Lal Chaturvedi Calendar 2027 [link these two phrases to your pages].
What Is the Babu Lal Chaturvedi Calendar?
The Babu Lal Chaturvedi Calendar is a Hindi panchang-style calendar that many families keep at home. A panchang (पंचांग) is a Hindu almanac that shows the lunar date (Tithi), the day, the Moon’s star group (Nakshatra) and other time factors. The name is written in several ways, such as Babulal Chaturvedi or Pandit Babulal Chaturvedi Panchang.
Descriptions of the calendar and its mobile apps mention festivals, fasting days, sunrise and sunset times, holiday lists and marriage dates. Popular app descriptions credit the panchang to Bhuvan Vijay Panchang and Pandit Suryakant Chaturvedi. We could not confirm this from an official publisher statement, so check the title page of the printed edition you buy.
It is often compared with other well-known Hindi panchangs, such as the Thakur Prasad Calendar and the Lala Ramswaroop Ramnarayan Calendar. All of them use the same basic Panchang method.
The Hindu Year Map: 2082, 2083 and 2084

| Vikram Samvat 2084 | 7 April 2027 | Chaitra Navratri 2028 | 2027, 2028 |

Why the Pattern Splits in Two
Most Hindu festivals follow the lunar calendar, and a lunar year is about 11 days shorter than an English year. So the normal rule is that a festival comes about 11 days earlier each year. You can see this rule from Nirjala Ekadashi onwards in the table.
The spring festivals break the rule. In 2026, an extra lunar month called Adhik Maas (Adhik Jyeshtha) was added from 17 May to 15 June. Holi, Maha Shivratri and Ram Navami come before that extra month in 2026, but after it in 2027. So the gap between them is about 13 lunar months, not 12. That is why they land 18 to 20 days later in 2027.
Ekadashi and Vrat Dates for 2027
Ekadashi (एकादशी) falls on the 11th Tithi of each fortnight. A normal year has about 24 of them. These are the vrat dates readers ask about most in 2027:
| Date | Day | Vrat |
|---|---|---|
| 4 June | Friday | Vat Savitri Vrat |
| 14 June | Monday | Nirjala Ekadashi |
| 14 July | Wednesday | Devshayani Ekadashi |
| 4 August | Wednesday | Hariyali Teej |
| 6 August | Friday | Nag Panchami |
| 3 September | Friday | Hartalika Teej |
| 22 October | Friday | Ahoi Ashtami |
| 10 November | Wednesday | Devutthana Ekadashi |
| 11 November | Thursday | Tulsi Vivah |
| 9 December | Thursday | Mokshada Ekadashi |
Smarta and Vaishnava followers sometimes keep an Ekadashi fast on different days. Check the Parana time (the time to break the fast) in your own panchang.
Wedding Muhurat Timeline: 2026 to 2027
Vivah Muhurat (विवाह मुहूर्त) means the auspicious dates and times for a wedding. Weddings follow some clear pauses in the Hindu year. This table puts the pauses and open periods on one timeline from today into 2027. The boundaries are approximate and based on published New Delhi panchang tables.
| Period | Wedding muhurat | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Now to 20 November 2026 | Paused | Chaturmas, which ends at Devutthana Ekadashi |
| About 21 November to mid-December 2026 | Usually open | Short wedding window after Tulsi Vivah |
| About 16 December 2026 to 14 January 2027 | Paused | Kharmas, when the Sun is in Sagittarius |
| 15 January to early March 2027 | Open | Winter wedding window, with February usually busy |
| Mid-March to about 17 April 2027 | Paused | Holashtak, then Kharmas when the Sun is in Pisces |
| About 18 April to 12 July 2027 | Open | May and June usually have the most dates |
| 14 July to 9 November 2027 | Paused | Chaturmas |
| 10 November to mid-December 2027 | Open | Starts after Devutthana Ekadashi |
Akshaya Tritiya, on 19 April 2026 and 9 May 2027, is often called an “abujh muhurat”. Many families treat it as auspicious for weddings and new purchases without checking a separate time. Even so, confirm the exact time with a qualified pandit before you book halls, caterers or travel.
If you plan a wedding in the short window after Tulsi Vivah in 2026, book early. Venues and priests fill up quickly when only a few weeks are open.
Key Terms in Simple Words
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Tithi (तिथि) | The lunar day. Festivals follow the Tithi, not the English date |
| Paksha (पक्ष) | A fortnight. Shukla is the bright half and Krishna is the dark half |
| Adhik Maas | An extra lunar month added every two to three years to match the solar year |
| Chaturmas | Four months from Devshayani Ekadashi to Devutthana Ekadashi |
| Kharmas | A month when the Sun is in Sagittarius or Pisces. Weddings are usually avoided |
| Holashtak | The eight days before Holika Dahan, avoided for weddings in many regions |
| Abujh Muhurat | A day seen as auspicious without needing a separate time |
| Parana | The time to break an Ekadashi fast |
How to Plan Your Year with This List
A festival list is most useful when you plan with it. These simple habits help:
- Start with the big five. Mark Dussehra, Karwa Chauth, Dhanteras, Diwali and Bhai Dooj first. In 2026 they all fall within three weeks, so shopping, travel and puja time need early planning.
- Check wedding pauses before you set a date. Look at the timeline table first. If a date falls in Chaturmas or Kharmas, move on to the next open period.
- Use the finder table for travel. If your family reunion is built around Diwali or Raksha Bandhan, the comparison table shows how many days earlier or later it falls next year.
- Write the Tithi, not just the date. When two relatives quote different dates, ask for the Tithi and Paksha. This usually solves the confusion quickly.
- Keep a printed panchang at home. A printed calendar gives daily Rahu Kaal, Choghadiya and city-specific timings, which a short list like this cannot.
- Review the list in December. Next year’s printed edition usually reaches shops towards the end of the year, so you can check this list against it.
Why Different Calendars Show Different Dates
You may notice that a few dates in this guide come with a second option. That is normal, and it happens for clear reasons.
Sunrise and city. Many festivals are fixed by the Tithi present at sunrise or at a set time of day. Sunrise differs between Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chhindwara, so a Tithi can end before the deadline in one city and after it in another.
Smarta and Vaishnava traditions. Ekadashi fasts follow slightly different rules in these two traditions. This is why Devutthana Ekadashi 2026 is listed on 20 November in many tables and on 21 November in others.
Purnimanta and Amanta months. North India usually starts a lunar month after the full moon, while some other regions start it after the new moon. The festival is the same, but the month name can differ.
Tithi spanning two days. In a few cases the Tithi starts late on one day and ends early on the next. Ram Navami 2026 is listed on 26 and 27 March, and Raksha Bandhan 2027 is listed on 17 August by most tables and on 16 August by a few. A few sources also show Janmashtami 2027 a day earlier than the 25 August date used here.
When this happens, follow the date in your family’s printed panchang, and ask your pandit for the final word on rituals.
Babu Lal Chaturvedi Calendar PDF: What to Know Before You Download
Many people search for a Babulal Chaturvedi Calendar PDF for 2026 or 2027. Here is what we found:
- The printed panchang is a published and copyrighted work. We did not find a publisher statement offering the full scanned edition as a free PDF, and we do not link to any file that claims to be a copy.
- Many third-party sites and apps show month-wise images or date lists. Some say plainly that they are not official. Check the developer name and the disclaimer before you trust them.
- Free PDF links from unknown sites can carry malware or show old dates. Never enter personal details to unlock a “free download”.
Safe ways to get your copy
- Buy the printed edition from a local stationery shop, bookstall or a trusted online store. Check the title page for the publisher name and the year.
- Use a well-reviewed mobile app from a known developer, and cross-check key dates such as Diwali and wedding muhurat with a second source.
- Save this page as a PDF. Open your browser’s print option and choose “Save as PDF”. This gives you our 2026 and 2027 tables for offline use. It is our own guide, not the Babu Lal Chaturvedi publication.
If the publisher releases an official free PDF link, we will add it here.
